Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why Attend?

    Posted by:

It's your chance to visit, learn about your campus, and complete your PreK eligibility meeting—which takes 5–10 minutes with the required documentation. Your seat in PreK is not confirmed until you go through the eligibility process. We strongly encourage you to attend these meetings. If we do not confirm your child’s eligibility during these meetings, the offer is subject to be removed.

  • What do I need for my eligibility meeting?

    Posted by:

Please complete your registration in Schoolmint prior to attending your eligibility meeting.  If you need help completing your registration, we can help you at your eligibility meeting.

NOTE:  all that is required to complete your registration is to upload a valid driver license for the parent or guardian, the child's birth certificate, and an immunization record for the child.

One or more of the following eligibility requirements must be met to qualify for Uplift Education Pre-Kindergarten.  The documents must be presented at your eligibility meeting:

      • Proof of Medicaid eligibility for the child
      • Proof of TANF eligibility for the child
      • If you don't have one of the above for your child, please bring copies of the two most recent paycheck stubs for the working adults in your household.
    • Child living in homelessness.
      • Complete a residency questionnaire at the eligibility meeting.
    • Child of an active, deceased, or injured member of the United States armed forces.

  • Does my child need vaccination records?

    Posted by:

Yes. Prek is unique.  Because it is the first time attending a Texas school for so many of our young scholars, immunizations must be up to date and submitted before your child can attend class. Please bring a copy of your child's shot records to your eligibility meeting, or drop them by your school's office before the first day of school.

  • How long does the eligibility meeting take?

    Posted by:

As long as parents have the required documentation with them as outlined in the list above, the meeting should only take 5-10 minutes.

  • What are the income requirements to qualify for Uplift Pre-K?

    Posted by:

The income limits vary from household to household based on number of people in the home, total household income, and other factors.  However, if your child qualifies for SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF, then he/she will likely qualify for Uplift Pre-K.

  • What if I am unable to attend my eligibility meeting?

    Posted by:

We strongly encourage families to attend the eligibility meeting scheduled for them by Uplift Education, but we understand that conflicts do arise.  If you are unable to attend your scheduled meeting, then please email upliftenrolls@uplifteducation.org to schedule a meeting.  Our spots for PreK fill quickly, so the sooner you can complete your eligibility meeting, the better chance you have of securing a spot for your child in Uplift Pre-Kindergarten.
