  • Virtual Learning for Scholars in K through 6th

    In accordance with the Texas legislature, Uplift is proud to offer a long-term virtual learning option for qualified scholars for the 2021-22 school year.

    Who is eligible?

    To be eligible to participate in full time virtual learning, a scholar must be:

    • In K through 6th grade AND
    • Currently enrolled in the district (For scholars NEW to Uplift for the 2021-2022 school year, your enrollment eligibility is not complete until we receive all required information from previously enrolled school.  (i.e. attendance records). AND
    • Have a minimum of 90% attendance in the last 6 months of school 
    • Passed all of their core courses (e.g., Reading/English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/Humanities) with a letter grade of C (70%) or better in SY 20-21 (for scholars in Grades 1-6) 

     

    AND their grade level specific criteria below

    Criteria 

    Kindergarten – 3rd Grade 

    • New to Uplift and Returning Kindergarten Scholars 
    • Scored in Quintile 4 and Quintile 5 on Reading and Math MAP (Fall 2021)  
    • Returning Scholars (Grades 1 – 3) 
    • Scored in the Quintile 4 and Quintile 5 on Reading and Math MAP (Spring 2021)  

    4th – 6th Grade  

    • All scholars must have passed the Spring 2021 STAAR in all required subject areas 
    • New to Uplift Scholars 
    • Scored in Quintile 4 and Quintile 5 on Reading and Math MAP (Fall 2021)  
    • Returning Scholars  
    • Scored in the Quintile 4 and Quintile 5 on Reading and Math MAP (Spring 2021)  

     

    OR  

     

    • Scholars who are Identified as medically fragile by Uplift’s Health Services Team based on health records on file (Grades K-12) 

     

    We know that our IB program of study is best when provided to scholars in person. We highly encourage all scholars to learn in person and for families to only choose the virtual option if they feel this is the best option for their scholar. ChallengeEd will be open to no more than 10% of the Uplift scholar population.
