Lunch Policy
-
Unfortunately, lunch with your scholars in our cafeteria will not be an option this school year. However, we will offer a select number of dates for Parent-Scholar lunches that are approved according to our calendar and requirements.
Alternatively, you can come in to the lobby, check your scholar(s) out with the receptionist using your ID (required) and take them out to eat lunch with you. They will be required to rejoin school and their class at the end of their lunch period.
No outside food is allowed to be dropped off for scholars to have inside the building during the school day. For example, Grandma cannot drop off McDonald's for her grandchildren to be eaten in the cafeteria for lunch.
Families can pack a lunch inside a lunch box and send the box with the scholar to school. There is no use of microwaves available for scholars.
There are 6 Exempt Days that happen throughout the year when it will be acceptable for scholars and families to bring store-bought and pre-packaged food for classroom parties. Dates will be announced ahead of time to both scholars and families. We do not accept homemade food of any kind on these dates.
We do not accept food items any other day of the year, including birthday parties or celebration cupcakes, popsicles, or other food items that have to be served or need to be temperature controlled. If cupcakes or popsicles are allowed for any reason, we will announce and permit families to bring those items.
Families can, however, create goodie bags containing these items for the class scholars to take home. This allows families to choose whether they want their child to consume the items or not.
We will decline food items if they do not follow these guidelines.
Thank you for your cooperation.
