Uplift Elevate: 2024-2025 Secondary School Update

Exciting News for Elevate Secondary!

Greeting Uplift Elevate parents and guardians,

As we come close to ending a wonderful 2023-24 school year, we would like to share some exciting changes that will be coming to Uplift Elevate next year. In order to better serve your scholars and families, we are merging our middle and high school to create one new school: Uplift Elevate Secondary School. While this may not change many day-to-day things for you or your scholar, it will help us establish a more unified and cohesive experience to create more opportunities for joy and rigor to better prepare your scholar for future college and career possibilities.

One of the biggest changes will be that we will no longer have two separate leadership teams; there will be one united leadership team. This will be led by myself, Mrs. Kendra Castro, as the new Secondary Head of School. I will oversee and be responsible for all rigorous and supportive academics, safety, and a joyful culture and community at the school. For those of you I have not met, I have been the Academic Director at Uplift Elevate High School for four years and am entering my eleventh year at Uplift Education. I am thrilled to take on this new challenge and continue to grow Uplift Elevate’s legacy of excellence.

Directly overseeing the instruction and teacher support on our campus, we will have a new Director of Secondary Academics, Mr. Jeremy Green. Serving Uplift Elevate Middle School this year as the Academic Director and within Uplift Education for the past 13 years, Mr. Green has an outstanding track record of results for scholars. Reporting to the Secondary Director of Academics will be our two Academic Deans, tasked with coaching teachers and overseeing our IB programs. Mrs. Stephanie King will assume the role of Middle Years Programme Dean, while Mr. Angel Anchondo will serve as our Diploma Programme Dean. We're thrilled to introduce a new role: the Dean of Family and Scholar Engagement. In this position, Ms. Elizabeth Ruddock will take direct responsibility for embodying our core values of fostering a vibrant community and nurturing our culture. Additionally, she will ensure adherence to our Code of Character, Conduct, and Support. We're delighted that Ms. Ruddock will continue her dedicated service at Elevate in this capacity.Rounding out our leadership team will be Mr. Carlos Alvarado, who will continue as our Dean of College and Career Prep. His team supports all of our scholars with their post-secondary pathways. We are honored and thrilled that the Uplift Elevate Secondary Leadership Team consists of the same people as this year, simply with a shift in roles to better serve your scholars.

I want to assure you that your scholar will experience middle school in a manner distinct from high school, and vice versa. As scholars advance from 6th grade to 12th grade, their independence and privileges will also advance. This move will allow us to help prepare your scholars and you for the rigor and excitement of our Diploma Programme, which can earn them up to 24 college credit hours. It will also allow us to begin all the support and offerings of our Road to College and Career team beginning as early as the 6th grade.

What I am most looking forward to is the stronger sense of community that we can develop together. I believe strongly that Uplift Elevate Secondary can be the premier Secondary School in Fort Worth, pursuing both academic excellence and strong character development for your scholars.

If you have any questions at all, please reach out to the main office. We will hold a virtual Parent Town Hall in late May to answer any follow up questions and to provide further clarification and information. We will also be able to share additional specifics in our fall Back to School night, and as always, I am more than happy to meet with you one-on-one if you have any questions or concerns. I can always be reached at
